Valentine Ozigbo, a Nigerian business mogul and philanthropist, has sympathized with those affected by a fire outbreak that was recorded at Otolo Nnewi, in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

According to eyewitness reports, the fire started as a result an unguarded motorcycle plug that ignited after coming close to a diesel tanker that was offloading its content at the petrol station.

Speaking from the scene of the unfortunate incident at Great V-Max Oil and Gas Filling Station along Nnobi Road, Nnewi, Ozigbo expressed sadness at the level of destruction recorded.

While thanking God for the fact that no life was lost, he called for a higher safety awareness and consciousness as he thanked God that nobody was hurt in the fire.

“While we thank God that no life was lost, it is important that we emphasize safety and what it means to our livelihood,” Ozigbo said in the video on Friday, January 22, 2021.

“We need a better, safer, and healthier Anambra.”

“This is another wake-up call. Tanker fire incidents have proven very deadly and costly in the past and I believe we have lost enough to avoidable fire incidents.”

“These incidents can be prevented by taking necessary safety measure. We must begin to adopt a culture of safety. We need to educate our people more, especially drivers of all kinds of vehicles on the need to adopt safety measures in petrol stations and on the road,” the respected business leader added.
