Nigerian Police Force Reaffirms Determination To Combat Crimes And All forms Of Criminalities

The Nigerian Police Force has expressed its readiness and commitment towards curbing crimes and Criminalities in the country.
The move initiated by Nigeria’s Inspector General of police issued instructions to the six Deputy Inspectors General of police in the nation’s six geo- political zones to organize stakeholders discussions on security to ensure a safer society.
To that effect, the Deputy Inspector of police in charge of operations and supply ,force headquarters Abuja and the DIG in charge of the South East states of Nigeria, DIG Kenechukwu Onwuemerie convened a stakeholders discussion on security in Awka the Anambra State capital.
Speaking during the occasion at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, DIG Onwuemerie listed four strategic pillars of action, namely- listening, collaboration, preventing adverse incidence, and building trust as issues to be adopted by all stakeholders.
According to him, all hands should be on deck to fight all forms of crimes and Criminalities.
He commended the Anambra state government for putting up the “Agunaechemba ‘ security outfit to synergize with the Nigerian Police and sister security agencies to combat crimes and Criminalities in the state.
In an address, the Commissioner Anambra State Police Command CP Ikioye Orutugu represented by the deputy State Commissioner of police in charge of operations Ibrahim Ezekiel expressed delight that security concerns in Anambra State are being taken seriously by the police which have recorded huge success in many of its operations.
CP Orutugu asked all relevant stakeholders to assist the command in combating crimes and Criminalities in the state.
In a speech at the forum, the Secretary General Anambra State traditional rulers council and the traditional ruler of Uke Igwe Surveyor Charles Agballah who represented the Chairman Anambra State traditional rulers council Igwe Chidubem Iweka the third, urged the Nigerian Police to address issues such as improving police responsiveness to distress calls and removing the bottlenecks associated with delays in the prosecution of cases brought before the local police which are often taken above Its jurisdiction occasionally making the plaintiff look like the accused.
Igwe Agballah used the forum to commend Governor Chukwuma Soludo for establishing the “Agunaechemba’ security outfit which has recorded huge successes in synergy with the Nigerian Police to reduce crimes and Criminalities to a minimum level.
The royal father expressed delight in the convening of the stakeholders discussion and expects all hands to be on deck to combat crimes and Criminalities in the state.
In a remark, the president General of Umunze Community Engr.Sir.Ezekiel Iheazor lauded the discussion on security as a plus towards finding a lasting solution to some security challenges in the state.
Engr.Iheazor expects all stakeholders to redouble their efforts to assist the security agencies in the state to combat crimes and Criminalities.
In a vote of thanks, the Chairperson Nigeria Association Of Women Journalists Anambra State chapter Comrade Tochukwu Ifejika acknowledged the success recorded in the cross fertilization of ideas during the security summit and expects all relevant stakeholders to sustain their drive to ensure a safer Anambra State.
Some of the dignitaries that graced the occasion include the Deputy Chairman Anambra State traditional rulers council and the traditional ruler of Omasi Igwe Dr.Benjamin Okeji, his Umuawulu counterpart Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, among others.
