Nigerian Man Arrested in Delhi for Scamming Indian Woman of Over N9m with Fake Marriage Proposal

A Nigerian man, Johnson, has been arrested in Delhi for deceiving an Indian woman from Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, with a fake matrimonial profile and a false promise of marriage. Johnson, who had overstayed his visa, swindled the woman out of ₹15,72,000 (approximately ₦9,100,000) by pretending to be a UK-based businessman. He convinced her he was stranded at Delhi airport and needed money for currency exchange, only to disappear after receiving the funds. Following a police investigation, Johnson was apprehended, and authorities recovered a laptop and several mobile phones from him.
