Nigerian man allegedly kills pregnant wife in UK after she filed divorce request
A pregnant Nigerian woman has allegedly died as a result of the beating she got from her spouse in the United Kingdom.
The woman simply identified as Hope filed a divorce application at the Ikorodu High Court in Lagos with the help of a lawyer in Nigeria.
The lawyer, Bolanle Cole said the victim’s father had contacted him that his daughter wants to divorce her husband, and when she did, he filed the petition in court.
However, extended family and some pastors in the UK got involved, so it was agreed that the divorce case be discontinued.
Unfortunately, barely a day after the petition was struck out Bolanle got reports that the husband hit his wife in her belly and she as five months pregnant.
He said she died as a result of the attack and her father decided to take up the matter with the UK authorities.
