Nigeria at 62: APC lauds Nigerians for sustained confidence in party
The All Progressives Congress (APC)has expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their support and sustained confidence in the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.
Mr Felix Morka, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, said this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja while felicitating with Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 62nd Independence Anniversary.
Morka said that in spite of the country’s current challenges, there was hope for a more vibrant future.
He also assured that the APC-led government would continue to implement programmes of reform and innovation that would help citizens unleash their abundant talents, create wealth and contribute even more to nation building.
“We honor the great architects of our Independence for their labour and tenacious faith in the transformative power of freedom that earned for us, a nation founded on the bedrock of unity, peace and collective aspiration to infinite greatness.
“Our party is thankful for 62 years gone by, and confident that our finest hour is yet ahead of us.
“Our priceless unity as one people nourished by our diversity is at the core of our unfailing strength, and remains our best hope for a more vibrant future.
“Despite existential challenges, our commitment to unity, peace, safety, security and happiness of our people remain unassailable and above all other interests and considerations,” he said.
He added that as a country, we must reject and hold accountable, those that sought agonise our diversity to foment hate and strife, and wreak violence on our people.
Morka noted that the tireless sacrifices of the country’s armed forces and other security agencies in the defence and protection of the lives and liberty of citizens continued to be awe-inspiring.
He added that, we therefore, owed them a special debt of gratitude, prayers and support.
According to him, proudly, our citizens shine indomitably in all spheres of human endeavor at home and around the world, winning laurels and bringing honor to us all.
“Our party and government will continue to implement programmes of reform and innovation that will help our citizens unleash their abundant talents, create wealth and contribute even more to nation building,” he said.
The APC scribe also said the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration had made significant strides in the fight against graft, revamping and diversifying the economy.
He added that efforts had also been made at curbing insurgency and emerging crimes, promoting positive values in our national life, strengthening democratic institutions and processes, and restoring respectability to our international standing.
He commended the resilience of Nigerians and reiterated the commitment of the APC and the Federal Government to do more to improve the living conditions of all Nigerians.
“We wish to use this auspicious occasion to thank Nigerians for their highly valued support for our great party, and sustained confidence in the APC-led government.
“We look forward to the 2023 general elections with optimism, and urge Nigerians to vote massively for our presidential candidate, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We also urge Nigerians to vote for our other candidates as we strive to deepen democracy and good governance in our country. Happy 62nd independence anniversary dear compatriots, ”Morka said. (NAN)
