1. Atiku vs Buhari: PDP Asks Supreme Court To Review Ruling On Presidential Election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the Supreme Court to review its judgement on the presidential election that affirmed President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in the 2019 presidential election.

Speaking to newsmen on Monday, the spokesperson of the PDP, Kola Ologbodinyan, also urged the Apex Court to review judgment in respect of governorship elections in Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Osun state, which the party lost to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

2. IGP Adamu Orders Probe Into Killing Of Remo Stars Defender

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu, on Monday, ordered an investigation into the death of Tiamiyu Kazeem, a Remo Stars FC player, in Sagamu, Ogun State.

Odogwublog reports that an officer of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) allegedly killed Tiyamiyu Kazeem, better known as ‘Kaka’.

3. Lyon: Supreme Court Set To Review APC’s Request On Bayelsa’s Election

The Supreme Court has promised to listen to the hearing of the All Progressives Congress’ application for a review of its February 13, 2020 judgment which overturned its victory in the last governorship election in Bayelsa State.

Odogwublog recalls that the disputed apex court judgment was delivered barely 24 hours to the inauguration of the party’s governorship candidate, David Lyon, and his running mate, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, scheduled to hold on February 14.

4. Be Careful, Maishayi Now Mix Hard Drugs In Tea – NAFDAC Warn Nigerians

Nigerians have been alerted in a statement by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) towards the patronage of roadside tea sellers, popularly referred to as Maishayi, noting that they now add hard drugs in the tea without the consumer knowing.

In a chat with the NAN on Monday, the Director-General of the agency, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, disclosed that its agency has been tipped-off that ‘Maishayi’ is now into adding hard drugs in the tea they sell to buyers.

5. Ekweremadu Wins As Court Strikes Out Asset Declaration Case Against Him

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday, struck out the charges of non-declaration of assets instituted against a former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

It will be recalled that the charges were brought against Ekweremadu in 2018 by the now-defunct Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property under the leadership of Mr. Okoi Obono-Obla.

6. Why Tinubu Won’t Get Buhari’s Support For 2023 Presidency – Yerima

Former governor of Zamfara State, Ahmed Sani Yerima has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari does not have the ability to install Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the next president of Nigeria.

The former governor added that irrespective of any form of agreement between the two leaders, Buhari can’t automatically hand over to any candidate when his tenure ends in 2023.

7. Nigeria’s GDP Grow Past IMF’s Projection Of 2.5%

Nigeria’s gross domestic product (GDP) has grown by 2.27% in 2019.

According to the, data released by the National Bureau of Statistics earlier today, the present state of the country’s economy has beaten the projection of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) which placed the nation’s economic growth at 2.1% in 2019.

8. 2023: El-Rufai Breaks Silence, Reveals Those He Will Support For Presidency

Amidst calls for federal power to leave Nigeria’s northern region for other regions in the country in 2023, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has taken a position.

In his view, Governor El-Rufai said the presidency should return to the Southern part of Nigeria in 2023, noting that the North has no justification to remain in power after the expiration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term in office.

9. Minister Goes Spiritual, Orders Staff To Fast Against Boko Haram Killings

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq, has raised the ‘flag of war’ against Boko Haram as she goes spiritual with staff of her ministry joining in a solidarity fasting and prayer.

The exercise which is said be a call to God towards putting an end to Boko Haram attack in the Northern part of the country, most especially in Borno State, was disclosed in a statement released from the office of the Assistant Director of Information of the Ministry, Rhoda Iliya.

10. Military Reveals Number Of Soldiers Killed By Boko Haram In Garkida Attack

The Nigerian Army has released more details of the encounter between its troops and Boko Haram terrorists in Garkida, Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

It will be recalled Odogwublog previously reported that Boko Haram fighters on Friday, February 21, invaded Garkida town around 7 pm shooting sporadically.
