A House of Representatives member, Abdulsammad Dasuki, has alleged that Nigeria’s newly signed tax laws were altered after passage by the National Assembly, triggering public outrage.

In a viral video, Dasuki claimed the gazetted version differs from what lawmakers approved, describing it as a constitutional breach. Speaker Tajudeen Abbas said the House would investigate.

Reacting online, Nigerians warned the allegation could amount to an impeachable offence if confirmed, while the presidency is yet to respond.
