New Delta assembly member reassures constituents proper representation

Newly sworn in Delta  House of Assembly member, Mr Jude Ogbimi, has reassured his constituents in Isoko North of proper representation during his stay in the legislature.

Ogbimi spoke with newsmen after plenary on Thursday in Asaba, promising not to let his people down.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Ogbimi was sworn in on Tuesday following his victory in the April 10 by-election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the Isoko North Constituency.

The election followed the demise of the former Majority Leader of the Assembly, Mr Tim Owhefere.

Ogbimi gave thanks to God Almighty for his success in the election and his swearing-in.

He said that the state house of assembly was a familiar ground for him.

The lawmaker assured his constituents that he and his colleagues in the house would be focused in making laws that would help to improve the lives of the people of Delta.

He hailed his predecessor, Late Tim Owhefere, for his laudable achievements in the constituency for the past 12 years.

“Late Tim Owhefere was my big brother and he has left a big shoe that will be difficult to fit in,” Ogbimi said.

He commended Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa for his commitment in ensuring quality service delivery to the people of the state, expressing support for his policies and administration’s vision.

Ogbimi said that the governor had done well, with high profile infrastructure all over the state.

“I stand by that legacy and vision of the governor,” he said.(NAN)
