Lawmaker empowers constituents with N13m items in 2 years
Mr Usman Shafa, representing Toto/Gadabuke Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, said he has empowered his constituents with over N13 million.Shafa made this known on Saturday in Gadabuke, while briefing newsmen on his scorecard in two years in office.
The lawmaker said the empowerment was to improve the living standard of people in the constituency.Shafa, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Health, was inaugurated as member of the House on June 10, 2019.
The lawmaker said he had also keyed into the agricultural programmes in order to boost food security in his constituency.“Within 100 days in office, I have empowered my people with items worth N9 million.
The items included 40 sewing machines, 50 grinding machines and 800 wrappers,” he said.Shafa also said that he has installed 76 solar streetlights worth over N4 million in his constituency, considering its importance to societal development, among others.He assured the people of quality and sound representation at the state legislature in order to improve on their standard of living.
The lawmaker urged them to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.He also advised them to continue to live peacefully with each other for development to thrive in the area. (NAN)
