Ndigbo United Assembly backs Obi as Atiku VP
The South East Chapter of Ndigbo United Assembly, a Socio Cultural Organization has backed the appointment of their son and senior advocate of the masses (SAM) Mr Peter Obi (Con) as the vice presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party ((PDP) by the Turaki Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar.
In a Communique after a general meeting attended by all the five States of the South East held in Enugu on Saturday 13/10 /2018
and Signed by the President General Sir Peter Okala and Secretary General Barr Raymond Anyaeji, NAU maintained that by that Singular appointment Igbos are on her way to restore the lost glory which has been robbed of her through discrimination that started after the overthrow of the best civilian government by General Mohammed Buhari in 1983 and subsequent dumping the then vice president Dr Alex Ekwueme in an underground cell for a very long time, “This a divine act of restoring the Igbo person who has suffered a great deal of discrimination, marginalization and segregation in appointment, development and recognition ever Since Shagari administration was sacked by the military led by General Mohammed Buhari, this a welcome development and an act of patriotism by the incoming President Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar. “
On the reactions trailing the appointment NUA opined that such was expected because it didn’t go to the expectations of the elites who are holding Nigerians to its jugular and may not wish that the country be made to develop simultaneously without ethnic and religious disharmony which has become an instrument of disengagement in the hands of the elites who benefits from all these vices that tend to divide the Country the raising phenomenon separatism, arms struggle, terrorism and importation of light weapons has finally death with this Country and the elites who now mount pressure on the choice of Mr Peter Obi are responsible.
We are greatly honored and privileged to have our own, a grass root person, manager of resources and goal getter, Mr Peter Obi to be the incoming number two family in Nigeria, this the Nigeria of our dreams and by this singular appointment the economy of this country and Naira is on it’s way of strength.
We hereby Congratulate Nigerians, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and indeed those forty-eight registered Political Parties that has come together for the peace and Unity of this Country (CUPP) with the successful, transparent free and fair Primaries that produced Atiku Abubarkar, Nigerians are back in the mood of brother hood which it was known and place in the comity of Nations is restored.
