NANKA : Visually impaired woman begs for N300,000 for eye surgery

A vulnerable Visually impaired woman has appealed to government and wealthy individuals to come to her rescue to enable her feed her her children especially during this period of Covid19 lockdown.

Mrs Felicia Okafor who hails from Ifite -Nanka, in Orumba South Local government area of Anambra state regretted that the present realities on ground has made it almost impossible for her to feed her children as she relied on goodwill from private individuals who no longer visit due to the pandemic.

According to her, she would appreciate if government and the people could come to her aid by assisting her with fund to enable her go for an eye operation in a specialist hospital in the area.

” i met an eye specialist who told me that if i am able to raise about two hundred and fifty thousand naira, that he will operate on my eye and i will regain my sight , but i dont have the means of getting such money hence my calling on good spirited individuals and government to please help me” added the widow.

Mrs Okafor Who said she lost her sight three years ago however commended those who had assisted her with little food and cash donations withing the trying period.

“I want to thank God for the gift of life and using some individuals including Zaram Life Foundation that donated food items like garri, beans, yam, onions, rice and other items for me to feed my children with”

Speaking with newsmen , the Coordinator and founder of Zaram Foundation , Lady Eucheria Onyemaobi described as pathetic the present health condition of the widow hence she thought it wise to provide food items while calling for more support to help eye experts restore the sight.

Zaram foundation is a gender based organisation which focuses on Migration, Intimidation, integration , and abuse in the society.
