NACCIMA, NYE, ASEEN Arrange Seminar For Youth Entrepreneurs On Accessing Loans, Grants For SMEs

Nigerian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, NACCIMA, Youth Entrepreneurs, NYE, Anambra State Chapter, in conjunction with Anambra State Emerging Entrepreneurs Network, ASEEN, have organized a one-day seminar for Youth Entrepreneurs on Accessing Grants and Loans for Small and Medium Enterprises.

Correspondent Emengini Osadebe, who covered the seminar reports that the event, which took place at Onitsha Business School, attracted youths from different parts of the state.

In his keynote address, the Director General, Onitsha Business School, Professor Olusegun Sogbesan disclosed that these grants and loans are readily available for the young entrepreneurs and asked different organizations and groups in Nigeria to start arming the youths with relevant information that will make them globally competitive.

Earlier in his opening remark, the National Treasurer, NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneurs, Mr. Chinemelum Nsobundu, who outlined the benefits of the seminar, pointed out that the organization is looking at creating a platform where information and knowledge on how grants and loans for young entrepreneurs would be shared to form a synergy with international community.

The resource persons, including Engineer Emeka Omata, who took them on ’Introduction to Bankable Business Plan Development” asked the youths to draft a business plan that must be feasible and viable, Miss Chichi Eriobu, who took them on how to structure a business to attract grants, virtually, advised them to have a business structure, vision and mission for their businesses while Mr. Favour Emeli dwelt on how to apply for business grants.

Later in an interview, the coordinator of NYE, Anambra State Chapter, Mr. Chinedu Aniagbaoso and the secretary, Miss Frances Jumbo said the core objective of NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneur is to organize training where young people can be educated on how to run businesses, vocational skills and entrepreneurship, urging the youths to be informed and be at the right place at the right time.

Some of the participants, including Miss Stella Chukwuma and Mr. Sopuluchukwu Ononuba, expressed joy at what they learnt and urged other youths to develop a good business plan that will help them amass wealth.
