LP Crisis: Lamidi Apapa’s Faction Holds Meeting in Anambra; Makes Strong Promise

The Lamidi Apapa faction of the Labour Party (LP) has said that it is committed to Peter Obi, as well as the restoration of LP mandate.

Factional chairman of the party in Anambra, Hon Peter Okoye, gave the indication on Sunday, May 21 during a meeting in Awka, the state capital.

Okoye said that the Apapa faction is not against Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate in the February 25, 2023 general election; but only wanted to restore sanity, rule of law and party supremacy in Labour Party; adding that Lamidi Apapa has been in the party for about twenty years, and will no longer watch Barr. Julius Abure and others destroy the party.

He said, “It was in the effort to salvage the image of the party that the recent meeting in Bauchi was held, where Abure and some officials were removed. So, we want to assure you that we mean well. We also want to urge you to go into the 21 local government areas of the state, and 326 wards to mobilize members.

“The leadership of the party will soon embark on ward tours. We are committed to the actualization and recovery of Obi’s mandate at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.”
