Love Feast: Bishop Obiora Calls On Christians To Rediscover The True Meaning of Love
By Julie Sylvia Onitsha
In a world where love is often misconstrued and misapplied, Bishop E C Obiora, Presiding Bishop of Life of Faith Gospel Assembly Ministry, took a bold step to teach Christians the true meaning of love. The love feast, held at the Life of Faith Gospel Assembly Ministry, 3-3 Federal Housing Onitsha, was a timely reminder of the importance of love in our lives.
Bishop Obiora emphasized that love has four dimensions, upward love, from heaven, inward love God’s love in our hearts, outward love, serving others, and backward love, with ulterior motives. He lamented the misconception and misapplication of love, especially among Christians, and aimed to showcase the original love of God.
The event was designed to bring love, unity, and kindness to youths who have been misled by idolatry, sexual perversion, and occultism. Bishop Obiora stressed the importance of showing genuine love, citing his decades-long practice of sharing with others, including inmates at Anambra State Correctional Center.
Bishop Obiora’s new ministry, vision for the youths is to give youths a strong foundation, teaching them true love and principles for a sustainable life. The event featured gospel artist Chinyere Udoma, radio presenter Freshman Jay, among others.
In his contribution, Moses Ezedebego, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN.Chairman, praised Bishop Obiora’s practical demonstration of love, saying, “Today, we are manifesting love practically. The host today wanted to show what love is.”
On 14th of this month, there was a celebration of what people called a Valentine’s day but today we are seeing something quite different from what happened on 14th. this the expression of love of God, love of God is quite different from love of man, the Bible call it Zoe, the God kind of life, unconditional love of God, we live in a world where people desire to be valued, loved and cared for.
In his speech Rev Dr Tochukwu Ubaezuonu, Presiding Pastor of Great Gospel Revival Ministry Awka, highlighted God’s unconditional love, exemplified by Jesus’ sacrifice. He emphasized that true love is selfless, sacrificial, and unconditional.
“God is love himself, God is spirit, he intentionally became man so that he demonstrates his love to us, express it, manifest it in the person of Jesus Christ and the Bible said that God commended his love for us, died for us sinners, this is love, he died when we are sinners, he took our place, paid the prize for our sins and provided redemption for us. And having received that love, we are to release it, extend it unconditionally to our fellow humans a d that is the beauty of knowing God and manifesting in his love.
A guest, Godwin Furnary, a Missionary stated that Bishop Obiora’s love and kindness are inspiring. I’m motivated to share love with others.
