Liturgy Choristers International Hosts Musical Concert In Awka

It was a sway of pretty colours and sounds as Liturgy Chorister International, LCI, South East Province hosted a musical concert at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic church Hall G.R.A Awka.

The August occasion with the theme “Let Us Joyfully Sing to God the Great Shepherd” attracted multi talented choristers from all the states in South East of Nigeria.


Welcoming the guests, the Liturgy Choristers International Anambra State chapter who sang “Ndi Obia Nnoo” in a glorious mood, thrilled the audience to excitement even as spectators struggled to view the glimpse of the exhilarating rendition.

Also, the ABS Heartbeat Chorale, who took the centre stage rendered “Be Thou Exalted O God” and “Chi Obioma” which captured the mood of the audience with an overflow of rhythms amidst sonorous solos.


Speaking at the event , the Founder of LCI, Mr. Emma -Frank Nwuba revealed that this year’s fiesta is the first provincial concert in the country aimed at enthroning liturgy and discipline among choristers by inculcating moral values and uniting them.

The National Chaplain LCI, Reverend Father Bartholomew Ezeokafor, described the event as apt, saying it was an avenue to reunite Catholic young men and women and to draw them to worship God in simplicity and truth.

In his speech, the Chairman on the occasion, Dr. Ikechukwu Umeh emphasized the importance of music stating that it brings relief and quietness of mind and happiness to people.


Saint Cecilia’s Choir of Saint Thomas Aquinas and Liturgy Choristers International Enugu and Ebonyi states also sang “God of Israel and I will give thanks”.

Presents at the event were the Managing Director, National Light Newspaper, Mr. Chuka Nnabuife, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obiano on Utility and Power, Barrister Victor Madu, the Special Assistant to Governor Obiano on Media, Mrs Ngozi Obileri, traditional rulers among others.

The event was capped with cutting of the LCI cake and rendition of George Handel’s hallelujah Chorus by all the choristers.
