Letter to President Buhari: Stop distracting us- APC warns

Our dynamic chapter of our great party, All Progressives Congress (APC) will not be distracted by any side issues in our steady March to victory and good governance of 21 Local Government Councils in Anambra State and the State Government.

Consequently, we will not be drawn into any hasty, irrational, uncalibrated and undigested reactions to a MISREPRESENTATION contained in a full page advertorial in The Sun Newspapers of September 24,2020, casting aspersions on the State Party Leader.

Anambra APC has not written any petition to the presidency or any other person, living or dead on any matter whatsoever.

However, just as we dissociate ourselves from the reference publication, with ominous intents, the avalanche of reactions said to have been credited to APC after the fact are hereby disclaimed in shell and content.

The only thing that has come ahead of this first official reaction to the September 24,2020 publication is a one-line Social Media Ryder : ANAMBRA APC SAID NOTHING OF THE SORT.

For the avoidance of doubt, our party is very mindful of its set objectives of producing elected officials in 21 Local Governments of Anambra State and getting an APC governor sworn in on March 17,2022.

Hence, we see the foregoing issue as one in many more distractions lined up by extraneous interests to disenable our focus.

It is roundly rejected.

Consequently, we shall not dwell on the fluid contents of the ill-intentioned and ill-informed publication, standing on doubtful pedigree.

We however understand that the interests of the sponsors of the publication- we are not concerned about the pawns-are alien and antithetical to APC interests.

To freshen all memories, Anambra State has not conducted any Local Government Elections from 1999 to date, except for the 2014 election secured with intense struggle, which APC resolved in Caucus to boycott, because the subsisting voter register ,containing the names of Michael Jackson and Fela Anikulapo Kuti as voters in Anambra State lacked integrity.

Hence no APC councilor could have emerged in the lone election.

Should it become necessary to return to this issue, after all consultations due, our great party would not hesitate to advise the general public, who we implore for now, to discountenace the storm in a cracked tea cup.
