Lawmaker offers 3-days free medicare to Anambra residents

The lawmaker representing Ogbaru in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Chukwuka Onyema in his bid to ensure healthy living among his constituency has sponsored 3 days of free medical treatment to the people of Okpoko ward 1 in the Ogbaru local government area, Anambra State.

Our correspondent who monitored the exercise learned that it began over 6 years ago and since then had been going around at intervals within Ogbaru LGA to the delight of the people.

Flagging off the medical treatment at Good Shepherd Anglican Church Okpoko, Onyema who was represented by the Secretary of  Ogbaru LG People’s Democratic Party ( PDP), Hon. Christian Okpe explained that good health is more than any human capital investment, adding that Onyema loves Okpoko and always cares for their well-being.

He told the patients to ensure that they adhere to medical directives so that they would obtain everlasting solutions to their health challenges.

Hon. Okpe who doubles as the Catholic Catechist of St. Micheal the Archangel Chaplaincy Okpoko Police division further poured accolades on Onyema for initiating free Medical treatment for Okpoko Community.

He said ” Today is a great day in Okpoko ward 1 due to free Medical treatment sponsored by Hon. Chukwuka Onyema. The man has been so good to Okpoko and a great man in Ogbaru LG. This free Medical outreach had been going around in Ogbaru LG for the past 6 years and today it is the turn of  Okpoko ward 1 and you can see the large turnout of patients who are being attended by medical teams.

We pray over Hon. Chu Chu Onyema for God to protect him from the hands of his enemies as well as to grant him victory in the forthcoming election. What we need is 4/4 in Ogbaru LG. He boasted!

Speaking shortly, the leader of the Medical team from Federal Medical center Asaba, Mr. Mohanye Jude Alaba said that they intended to see how many people could be saved from various sicknesses.

He revealed that they have partnered with the sponsor, Hon. Onyema for 6 years, saying that Hon. Onyema had been a great guy and they run general tests and treatments, eye surgery, general surgery, and other sickness treatments.

Commenting, the Okpoko ward 1 People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) Chairman, Hon. Chukwudi Uche praised God for giving Okpoko Hon. Chukwuka Onyema. He eulogized him for the free medical treatment in Okpoko ward 1 and Ogbaru LG in general.

” Hon. Chukwuka Onyema always has Okpoko at heart, he is representing us very well and equally extends to us what belongs to us. We urge the people of Okpoko ward 1 and Ogbaru, in general, to continue supporting Hon. Onyema, vote for PDP in the forthcoming election” 

Similarly, the Okpoko ward 1 People’s Democratic Party ( PDP)  women leader and one of the councilors in Okpoko, Hon. Chibuzo RRaymondUUltanoted that the essence of free medical treatment was to alleviate numerous people from all manners of illnesses in Okpoko.

” People are suffering here! But we give God glory for providing Hon. Chukwuka Onyema to Okpoko dwellers. He is not only offering free medical treatment to Okpoko Community. He severally brought Electric transformers to various quarters in Okpoko, he gives financial succor to men and women in Okpoko, alleviates widows and indigents people in Okpoko, granting scholarship to School Children, he built so many roads and other amenities”  

In their commendations, One of the beneficiaries of the free medical treatment, Mr. Alex Egbeji testified that Hon. Onyema is a gift to Okpoko. Some others who rained encomium to Hon. Onyema which includes Mr. John Dumegwuzie, Mrs. Lynda Nwachukwu, Mrs. Blessing Ezi, Mrs. Roseline Okoro, Chief Ebuka Ikeloka, and Mr. Osita Obiako amongst others.
