Kogi Police Commissioner Urges Officers to Uphold Professionalism
The Commissioner of Police for Kogi State, Bethrand Onuoha, on Thursday decorated newly promoted Assistant Commissioner of Police Ochoma ThankGod and 38 other officers in a ceremony celebrating their achievements. A statement released Friday by the Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police William Aya, highlighted the event, attended by prominent figures, including traditional chiefs, senior police officers (both active and retired), and family members. The Commissioner commended the officers for their dedication and hard work, emphasizing that their promotions reflect both recognition and increased responsibilities. He urged them to embody the core values of service, discipline, professionalism, and selflessness in their duties. Expressing gratitude to Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun and Police Service Commission Chairman Hashimu Argungu for their support and recognition through promotions, the CP noted that higher ranks bring greater challenges, contrary to the belief that “the higher you go, the cooler it becomes.” Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, ACP Ochoma ThankGod thanked the leadership for the opportunity and pledged to redouble efforts in fulfilling their duties. The event closed with acknowledgments of the role of families and communities in the success of police operations and the support of the guests in celebrating this milestone.
