Killing of 19 persons: Anambra Police arrest 5 suspects

Five  suspects have been arrested over the killing 19 persons  in Awkuzu, in the Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State on Monday.

A senior police officer at the state command, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told our correspondent that  the suspects were arrested at a place he declined to name so as  not to impede investigation.

He said, “The command has decided not to make such information public in other not to jeopardize ongoing investigations

“We are making progress on those who killed the people on Monday at Awkuzu by arresting five of the suspects.

“The command will not rest until the perpetrators of such heinous act are completely apprehended.

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, said the command was still investigating the matter.”
