Kidnappers of Kaduna catholic priest demand N60m ransom
Abductors of Kaduna Catholic Priest, Rev Fr Joseph Shekari have mandated the sum of 60 million naira as a ransom for his release.
The bandits kidnapped Fr Joseph and shot dead one of his cooks, Mr Sati Musa in Chawai, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Odogwublog reports that kidnapping, demand for ransom and violence has become a daily occurrence in Kaduna State.
To nip the trend in the bud, Governor Nasir El-Rufai had sought the intervention of the military, placing security posts in strategic locations in the state.
However, the menace has continued unabated.
A recent security update by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs in the state, Samuel Aruwan indicated that in 2021, about 1,192 residents were killed by bandits while 3,348 others were kidnapped in the state.
