Kalu okays PISE-P cooperation with Google, Amazon, others for S’East growth

The Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr  Benjamin Kalu, says he  supports the Peace in the South East Project (PISE-P) partnership proposal with Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. Kalu said this while playing host to a delegation from Neuo Mobile Communication and Technology Ltd. in Abuja on Thursday. He said the partnership was for the benefit  and development of South-East indigenes and other creative minds. PISE-P is a non-governmental organisation and an initiative of Kalu that canvasses a non-kinetic approach toward resolving security challenges in the south-east region.

He commended the group for their innovation and commitment and for making a difference in the ever-evolving world of technology. According to him, technology is a major catalyst for youths employment in the 21st century. “I see greatness in this mustard seed; I see great opportunities out there. I have seen your passion to make a difference and your understanding of the time that we are in, the time of digitalisation. “We are accepting Google and Amazon to partner with PISE-P. We know what that’s going to do for our people, both in the south-east and other parts of Nigeria.

“It’s about time we prove to our people that we are better than the hands we use in holding guns; the same hands can build innovative solutions to our problems. “It’s about time that we prove that those boys can create solutions that we will all celebrate. All they have been asking for is a listening ear,” he said. The lawmaker said that PISE-P had made itself available to be the listening ear, adding that he, with the leaders of the region would be their mouthpiece, showcasing their needs.

Earlier, NEUO Executive Director, Business and Development, Joseph Asuquo, said the purpose of the visit was to introduce their company and congratulate him on his emergence as the deputy speaker. Presenting the software and other products created, Asuquo said the technology would encourage electronic participation during plenary and committee assignments.
