The Guardia di Finanza Italian financial law enforcement on Wednesday announced that police arrested 36 suspects in a major operation targeting the Moccia Mafia clan in the vicinity of Naples.

According to a press release, special units of the Carabinieri military police also placed 16 people under house arrest and have stopped a further five from conducting business activities for the time being.

The police added that Guardia di Finanza also implemented a further two temporary business ban measures saying investigators seized goods and company shares worth around €150 million in total.

The Italian judiciary accuses those involved of association with the Mafia, blackmail, money laundering, corruption and illegal arms possession, among other things.
