INVEST IN AGRICULTURE GOVERNOR UZODIMMA’S AIDE ADVISES IMOLITES

Worried by deplorable state of the economy as caused by Covid-19 pandemic and the need to ensure food sufficiency in 2021 planting season, Princess Calista Anene-Ahmed has advised Imo populace to seriously involve in agriculture as a strategic means of boosting their economy and that of the state.

Anene-Ahmed who’s Governor Uzodimma of Imo State, Senior Special Adviser on Social Development and Humanitarian Services disclosed this in her grassroots orientation campaign christened: Plant A Seed Today: Ensure Food Security in Imo State.

The Princess of Oguta ancient kingdom pointed out that, as the planting season is on, it’s imperative to encourage citizens of the State to be involved in farming by utilizing every available spaces in their compound to plant vegetables, yam, cassava,pepper, cocoa yam among other agricultural proceeds..

According to her “as part of Government’s drive to improve planting practices and boost agricultural production in Imo State, the government advises citizens to plant seedlings in their homes, gardens and farms so as to boost food production and ensure food security in Imo State and Nigeria at large”.

She commended the state government for her commitments in improving agricultural yields in the state and enjoined farmers to maximize the opportunities.
