Worried by the level of insecurities being suffered by most oil companies as occasioned by rift with host communities, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has advised oil companies operating in Nigeria on the need to fulfill their social responsibilities agreement reached with their host communities.

Uzodimma gave this advise over the weekend while commissioning the first ever modular refinery built by Watersmith Oil Company
at Asa Awara in Ohaji/Egbema LGA, Imo State.

He expressed delight that the project is sited in Imo State and assured the oil company of a condusive and peaceful atmosphere.

The Governor enjoined the Oil Company to consider Imo youths in the area of employment, leave up to their agreement with the host Communities and as well, not forget their responsibilities with the federal government.

Uzodimma who expressed happiness that the project was commissioned under his Shared Prosperity leadership, revealed, that the project has the installed capacity of refining 5,000 barrels a day.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Timipre Sylva- Minister of State Petroleum Resources. Chief Bittrus Bako Nabasu- Permanent Secretary Ministry of Petroleum Resources. Engr. Dark Auwalu(MNSE)- Director/ CEO, Department of Petroleum Resources. Mele kolo Kyari- Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation ( NNPC) and host of others.
