Igwe Eziowelle cautions guber aspirants against ‘Do or Die politics’, installs new chiefs

Igwe Michael Okonkwo Etusi, Owelle of Eziowelle in Idemili North, Anambra State has cautioned governorship aspirants against ‘Do or Die politics’ urging them to shun violence and bloodshed during electioneering campaigns.

The monarch made the call recently at his palace during the 2021 new yam festival cum installation of new chiefs into the Eziowelle Royal cabinet.

“Alhaji Waziri Ibrahim’s Politics without bitterness is what we need in Anambra State. Candidates should show respect for each other, shun violence, bloodshed and campaign of calumny. They should focus on developmental initiatives which Igbo people are known for anywhere they settle.

“I advise youths to be submissive to instituted authorities and embrace peace. Any community that does not listen to their leaders will find it difficult to make maximum progress. Anambra State shall survive”, said Igwe Okonkwo Etusi.

Moreover, the President General Eziowelle and National President Anambra State Association of Towns Unions, ASATU, Barrister Titus Akpudo (Ichakaegbejiegbuagu) after eulogizing the achievements of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State and Igwe Okonkwo Etusi encouraged the electorate to come out enmasse to exercise their franchise saying that a new Governor must emerge come November 6, 2021 whether people boycott or decide to vote.

Earlier before the ceremonial cutting of yam, Igwe Eziowelle installed High Chief Chidozie Nzekwesi as the Ikenga Eziowelle; High Chief Chikelue Chidiebere Obiadada as the Ide Eziowelle; High Chief Nonso Akukwe as the Ogidi Eziowelle and High Chief James Ibezimako Akpudo as the Ife Eziowelle charging them to continue the good works which had brought them commendation and honour.

The newly installed chiefs after appreciating the Igwe in council, town union, stakeholders and Community members pledged to do more in promoting love, unity, peace and developmental progress in Eziowelle community.

However, Chief Mrs Princess Onwudiwe (Adadiogo Eziowelle), Hon Mrs Nkoli Mmegbuaneze (Lolo Udenze), Mr. Francis Obiozor Nwachinaemele described the new chiefs as round pegs in round holes urging them to use their intellectual, human and financial resources to assist the Eziowelle leadership in making their community better.

According to High Chief Chikelue Chidiebere Obiadada, Ide Eziowelle:”I love Eziowelle so much. I remain loyal to Owelle Eziowelle and I will liase with our PG to plan for the next project to invest in for the welfare our people”.

The President of Metu Memorial Secondary school, Onitsha Old Boys ’81 to ’87 set, Barrister Mike Ifeanyichukwu Enendu (Nwachinaemelu Alor) described High Chief Nzekwesi, Ikenga Eziowelle his schoolmate as one whose philanthropy has affected many lives in Eziowelle community.

In his remarks, High Chief Chidozie Nzekwesi, Ikenga Eziowelle said,” I am elated and will continue to be a voice to the voiceless. I thank my community, schoolmates who came to identify with me and as a new young blood we are going to inject more developmental changes henceforth”.
