The Vice Chairman, Chief Vincent Onyechi pleaded with state government to reduce the heavy taxes demanded from patent medicine stores saying that those contracted to collect the revenue refuse to understand their plight.

” For instance, can you imagine that each patent medicine store irrespective of the size is levied 24, 000 naira as sanitation levy when some stores do not make up to 2000 naira a day.

“We hope to dialogue with the state government. Let them go round and evaluate the strength of the patent medicine stores before imposing heavy taxes on us,” said Onyechi.
