The publisher of Daily Times, Fidelis Anosike has said that he is fully in support of the aspiration of Uzuegbuna Okagbue to the 10th Senate, to represent Anambra Central Senatorial District. This he said in his porch home in Umueri Anambra State, during Easter felicitation visit by Uzuegbuna Okagbue.

Fidelis Anosike, whose elder brother Sen. Emma Anosike was a senator for Anambra North senatorial zone at the age of 42 years, remarked that politics requires a lot of energy which in his honest estimation, leaves a large room for capable younger people to make more impact. “Politics requires energy. Nigeria is changing so its very critical that we support the right people”, he said. Charging younger people who were in the team with Uzuegbuna Okagbue during the visit, Fidelis Anosike said he made significant progress as a young man and therefore being young should be a disadvantage. “I am 53 years now, but I was 35 years when I bought Daily Times”, Anosike said.

On the aspiration of Uzuegbuna Okagbue, Fidelis Anosike said that Uzu is able, prepared and therefore has his support in any way possible to actualize his Senate aspiration. “Uzu is a good man and he has capacity. I will invest anything that I can into the project. We must be able to leave a legacy. We must be able to get this done. I am with you all the way”, Anosike declared.

In his response, the Anambra Central Senate hopeful, Uzuegbuna Okagbue thanked Fidelis Anosike and assured the media guru that he would never be disappointed. “I have a long standing relationship with the Anosikes. I thank you for all you have said. Knowing what to do is not age-related. I recall how I was brought to Anambra State by former governor Obiano eight years ago, purely on the basis of competence. It was when I got here that Obiano knew I was from this state and that I am Bessoy’s son. We can only do better than our forebears. So I thank you so much”, Uzu said.
