Governor Soludo Grants Scholarship To PhD Level To Top-Performing Secondary Student At Solution FunCity Anniversary
Governor Chukwuma Soludo marked the first anniversary of Solution FunCity in Awka by awarding a comprehensive scholarship to Chiazo Umeaniba, a student at Maria Regina Model Comprehensive Secondary School, Nnewi.
The scholarship covers the recipient’s education through the PhD level, following her exceptional performance of 344 in the recent Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The announcement came from the Governor during the anniversary festivities, where Umeaniba had performed as part of the entertainment lineup for the Governor and other attendees.
Since its inauguration on June 28 of last year, Solution FunCity has established itself as a multi-generational recreational hub designed to serve residents of all social classes.
Reflecting on the facility’s success, officials noted that during the peak period from late December to mid-January, the site recorded an average of 10,000 daily visitors from both within and outside Anambra State.
Governor Soludo emphasized that the project serves as a cornerstone of his administration’s efforts to transform Anambra from a transit point into a primary destination for tourism and investment, stating that the facility represents only the beginning of a broader development plan, with further infrastructure projects currently in progress.
The Governor highlighted that the success of the site has signaled a change in the state’s narrative, noting that investors are increasingly showing interest in large-scale projects, including residential estates and industrial cities and reiterated his commitment to expanding by building more of such facility to ensure it remains a premier attraction for visitors.
The Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Solution FunCity, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, praised the Governor’s vision, noted that the facility is a testament to the delivery of diversity dividends for the people of Anambra and expressed appreciation for the public support that has allowed the facility to thrive throughout its first year of operation.
For Miss Umeaniba, her joy knew no bounds, as she appreciated the Governor for his kind gesture.
The event featured various performances and fun activities by attendees.
