The Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C-Don Adinuba, has extolled the government and people of the State for their rising profile in virtually all aspects of human and infrastructural development.

Mr Adinuba was reacting to the latest report announcing Anambra as the second best across the states of the federation, in the 2020 Fiscal Sustainability Index, conducted by BudgIT, an internationally recognized civic advocacy society.

BudgIT, which is supported by Bill and Melinda Foundation, among other international agencies, recently released report saying that Anambra followed closely oil rich Rivers, leaving Ogun and Lagos States trailing behind her in that order.

The Information Commissioner also recalled that Anambra, according to a survey by the National Bureau of Statistics, published on thirteenth August, 2020, was adjudged the state with lowest unemployment rate in the Country, having thirteen point one percent unemployment rate, in a working population of two point two five million.

Mr Adinuba said that Anambra is achieving these feats even when it has three ongoing legacy projects the government is executing without borrowing any money.

He listed the projects to include the Anambra airport at Umueri, the Awka City Stadium, and the ten thousand seating capacity International Conference centre in Awka, all of which he said will be commissioned in April 2021.
