Global COVID-19 recovery drive reaches millions, targets zero-dose children
A global post-COVID vaccination drive has reached 18.3 million children across 36 countries, delivering over 100 million doses and targeting “zero-dose” children missed during the pandemic.
Led by Gavi, WHO and UNICEF, the “Big Catch-Up” aims to close immunisation gaps and restore routine services, with about 12.3 million previously unvaccinated children reached.
Health agencies warn sustained investment is needed to prevent future outbreaks despite progress.
