WTF Construction has committed to deliver 240 housing units in Benin under the Emotan Garden City project of Edo Government. Dr Nosa Omere, the Chief Executive Officer of the company, disclosed this on Thursday when the Edo State Development and Property Corporation (ESDPC) handed over the site of the project to four select developers. Omere said the houses, which would be constructed under one year, would be built using the rapid build technology of the company. “For us, we are doing 240 units and it is a mixed development. WTF Construction is West Africa not just Nigeria.

“We have ability to deliver to specifications. We design, they didn’t give us design. “So it is our design we are producing and we have six house types, which include 2 bedroom semi detached, 3 bedroom semi detached, 2 bedroom block of flats and 4 bedroom duplex, among others,” she said. The chief executive officer, who claimed her firm constructed the Sierra Leone Airport, assured that the company would work to specifications. “This is nothing compared to what we are used to do; we are very prepared to deliver within a year.

“We are using our technology to build here; we are not doing brick and water,” she said. Omere noted that because the firm was familiar to the terrain, it expected no challenges that could disrupt the project. Mr Ayo Babajide, the Executive Director of the firm, said since seed of delivery was taken off, they would quickly wrap up to ensure the houses are delivered to the people. “To deliver on time, some things must be available. Money, I can assure you we have the money. “Secondly, expertise, we have the expertise, and thirdly to deliver 240 houses under one year, you need technology. I can tell you we have a rapid build technology.

“We are using aluminum form to build homes which make it easy for us and set up so many housing frame at the same time and pour all of them on the same day,” Babajide said. Earlier, the Managing Director of ESDPC, Mr John Zedomi, described the moment as a significant milestone in the journey towards making Emotan Garden City a transformative development. This, he said, was in line with the MEGA Agenda of Gov. Godwin Obaseki’s vision to provide affordable housing for citizens of the state. He urged the developers to demonstrate again their expertise and commitment to quality and shape the land into a vibrant and sustainable community. (NAN)
