Fulani Herdsmen : School In Anambra Invaded With Cattle Again

There was tension in Anambra State on Thursday as Fulani Herdsmen with their cattle invaded Ideke Secondary School in the Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state.

Teachers and students of the school, who raised the alarm, left the school abruptly.

They described the encroachment as incessant.

Speaking to newsmen, the acting Principal of the school, Mrs Ann Nwosu, called on the state government to come to their rescue.

She regretted the presence of herdsmen and their cattle in the school regularly.




She said, “It is worrisome to see both cattle as well as herdsmen loitering around the school compound, especially during the study hours.

“This poses a threat and great danger, not only to the students and teachers, but also to everybody.”

One of the teachers, Mrs Nkoli Anikpe, said, “The children were harassed by these herdsmen and their cattle whenever they went out on break.

“he herdsmen have threatened us on several occasions when we tried to stop them fro encroaching on our compound.”

In his reaction, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Secondary School Monitoring, Chinyere Mbakwe, described that as worrisome
