Fire kills Anambra political science graduate Whatsapping near gas cooker

Gas fire has reportedly killed a political science graduate of a tertiary institution in Anambra State.


The name of the victim could not be ascertain as of the time of filing this report.
But an acquaintance of hers told newsmen that she attended primary, secondary schools and university in Awka, the Anambra State capital.


It was gathered that she was. chatting on Whatsapp when her telephone caught fire from a gas cooker in her family house and burnt her beyond recognition.

‘Information about her death is scanty now. But I learnt that she was cooking and chatting on Whatsapp near a gas cooker and her telephone caught fire and she sustained high degree of burnt.

“She was taken to a nearby hospital but she passed on some days later.
” It was really a rude shock to some of us who knew him, ” a source , who would not want to be named ,stated.

It was further gathered that her death came barely a month after she completed her National Youth Service programme.
Efforts to get police confirmation to the story failed as our calls to the Public Public Relations Officer , Haruna Mohammed,in the state could not go through.
