The Federal Government, through the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CrediCorp), has launched “YouthCred,” a loan programme offering NYSC members single-digit interest loans of up to ₦200,000.

Backed by ₦9 billion for its first phase, the scheme aims to promote responsible borrowing, credit history building, and financial literacy. Eligible corps members must complete a short digital credit course before accessing funds, which can be used for relocation, work tools, training, or small businesses.

President Tinubu’s administration says the initiative is part of a broader consumer credit drive announced on June 12.
