Fegge Specialist Hospital, a Beacon of Hope, Opens its Doors to the Community

The first-ever public hospital in Fegge, Onitsha South Local Government, constructed by Governor Charles Soludo, has officially commenced operations, bringing joy to residents, particularly expectant mothers.
The hospital, equipped with modern facilities, promises to provide quality healthcare services to the community.
Okoro Jane, an antenatal patient, expressed her gratitude to Governor Soludo, saying, “I’m now one of the beneficiaries. I will never hesitate to take in again immediately after this delivery since it’s free of charge.

Dr. Okoli Adaeze, a medical officer, commended the governor’s efforts, stating, “You hardly see a new hospital that is well-equipped as this. The equipment is okay for now for a startup hospital.” She noted that while services are not entirely free, they are affordable, except for antenatal care and delivery which is free of charge.
Ifeoma Helen Onwuegbunam, representing the Head of Nursing Services, disclosed that the hospital began operations on January 12, 2026, and has recorded significant success in patient turnout.
Aniakor Chidinma, Assistant Head of Nursing Services, attributed the hospital’s progress to Governor Soludo’s vision ⁴.
Mr. Chukwudindu Uchebo, Admin/Higher Executive Officer, highlighted the challenges faced by the hospital, including epileptic power supply, and appealed for increased publicity to attract more patients.
Governor Soludo’s initiative is part of his broader effort to improve healthcare infrastructure in Anambra State, with plans to establish more hospitals and upgrade existing facilities
