Federal Government Moves To Revive 132KV Transmission Line Project In Anambra
The Anambra State Government says arrangements have been concluded for the execution of the proposed 132KV electricity transmission line project, which was initiated by the Federal Government about ten years ago but later abandoned.
The State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, disclosed this while speaking to journalists in his office in Amawbia, where he disclosed that the government is developing a framework to facilitate compensation for owners of buildings and lands that will be affected by the acquisition of the right-of-way for the project.
According to the Commissioner, the project, which is being executed by the Federal Government through the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), will pass through Nnobi, Awka-Etiti and Nnewi, and is expected to improve electricity supply in the area and stimulate economic growth.
Barrister Ojukwu said the government has completed the identification and marking of the right-of-way and will soon invite affected property owners for documentation and verification of their claims for compensation.
He appealed to affected residents to cooperate with the government, assuring them that the Soludo administration would ensure that the compensation process is carried out fairly and transparently.
