Ezinne Victoria Akubue ( Nee Eze), mother of PG Nibo goes home in grand style

The remains of Ezinne Victoria Akubue ( Nee Eze)mother of the President General Nibo Town Union, Engr Sir Dr Innocent Igwedimma Akuvue (Ochudo Nibo) was laid to rest at the ripe age of 82 amidst pomp and ceremony

The burial ceremony took place at his home town Umuonyima Village, Uruana Umuanum Quarters Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

At the vigil mass, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor, acknowledged the late Ezinne as a woman who lived an examplary life, both in Church and community, hence she was recognized as an Ezinne.

The Catholic Prelate, in His homily , reminded Christians that our stay in this life was temporary, so that requires the need for us to live this life knowing that our soul is enternal and belongs to Christ.

He said: ‘in as much as the needs to satisfy our worldly desires, we should not forget to balance the equation, grooming our life in Christ Jesus.

Drawing from the book of Genesis, Bishop charged the congregation to conquer the world, by living an outstanding life with Christ, so that after life posterity will attest of our good deeds. Noting, that When one lives a good life, the person faces death without fear.

He tasked all to observe Covid19 protocols, always on face mask, using sanitizers, warning that Corona virus pandemic was real.

He observed that it is better for one to endure the discomfort that will come from face mask and be safe than throwing caution to the winds and perish.

The Bishop made the call for strict enforcement of the burial laws by Anambra state Government as it will help to checkmate anomalies and abuse of funeral activities, and to make it less cumbersome.

Bishop Ezeokafor acknowledged the efforts of the President General, Innocent Akuvue both in society and in the church.

From the book of Ecclesiastes,the Bishop Condoled the family of Akubue , saying that there is time for everything in life ” time to be born and time die, that death is a prize we all will pay but what matters is how prepared we are, hence the Akubue family should accept Ezinne’s death with faith knowing that it is Paramount since the sins of Adam.

The burial Mass at St Theresa’s Catholic Church Nibo was graced by Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, Most Rev Godfrey Igwebuike Onah, more than Forty Rev Father’s, and Priests from different denominations attended the ceremony.

Similarly at the burial proper, Rev Fr Tobechukwu Ekebosi of CSSP Abeokuta Diocese in His Homily, tagged “Death where is thy stings” reminded Christians that death is a means of achieving our unity with Christ, and that death is swallowed up by victory when we die in Christ.

He said: “Death is a phenomenal that it will come , but what matters is the end point of our spirit, though becomes insensitive when young person is involved but some how appreciated when one is old.

Fr Ekebosi recognized Ezinne as a woman, who was spirited in charity, and a woman her personal hygiene lifestyle was unmatchable.

He noted, that Ezinne was a true picture of a virtues woman,who bonded with her family together till death, hence made it easy for her children, as she departed peacefully.

Further, he noted that if every woman would be like Ezinne, that there would be less disintegration in Nigeria, as he prayed for a peaceful repose of her soul.

The Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Diocese , Most Rev Godfrey Igwebuike Onah, reminded Christians that religion taught us Sacrifice,Love, discipline and Justice.
The Igbo tradition and Church tradition pursued one goal and that is Love, respect.

He Charged mothers to train their children in the way of God that school and Church were just an aid, that there is a desiring need to inculcate cultural incentives on our children.

The Bishop also recognized Ochudo as a man with an examplary life, and that attributed to the kind legacy Ezinne left.

Superior, Congregation of the Holy Spirit, Province of Nigeria South-East, identified Ezinne as foundation member of Holy Ghost brothers,as he assured peaceful repose of her soul.

And that Ochudo’s benevolence, prompted him to bring a soul to them as he trained one of them, Rev Fr Toochukwu Ekebosi.

In a Remark by the Parish Priest of St Theresa’s Catholic Church Nibo, Rev Fr Sylvester Dunu, he recognized Ochudo as man of Peace, who has contributed immensly to the growth of the Church and that attracted Rev Father’s from far and near even clergymen from different denominations.

In Solidarity, His Royal Highness Eze M C Ngene, Ezike the Fourth of Nibo while paying homage acknowledged Engr Innocent Akuvue as one of the best Presidents General Nibo Community had produced.

He seized the opportunity and invited all to ‘Ezike Day 2020’ 26th day of December, as the event is yearly sponsored by Ochudo Nibo.

Ezike Nibo who had in his entourage the traditional ruler of Umuawulu Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, Former deputy speaker of Anambra State Hon Harford Oseke, and Others praised Ezinne for a life well spent.

The ceremony was agog with the presence of the Deputy Governor of Anambra State Dr Nkem Okeke, the State House of Assembly member representing Awka South 11 Constituency, Hon Chukwuma Okafor,
,Managing Director Anambra Broadcasting Service, Nze Uche Nworah PhD, Commisioner for Public Utilities, Hon Obi Nwankwo, and Others

In a vote of thanks, The President General Nibo Community, Engr Sir Dr Innocent Igwedimma Akuvue, KSJI, FNSE, FNSChE,FPIN,FIMC,CMC, acknowledged everybody who travelled far and near to be with him.

He also pointed that the death of his mum makes him the eldest in the immediate Akubue family, as he assured on projecting that part of peace she instilled on them.
