Electoral Act Amendment Bill Passes Second Reading

The amendment of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Act 2010 has passed the second reading in the Senate.

The bill which was passed on Wednesday contains all corrections made to the initial one sent to President Muhammadu Buhari, which he declined assent.

Some corrections and observations were made by the Senator’s before the bill was read a second time.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has formally written to the National Assembly to request the total sum of 242.45 billion naira for the 2019 general elections.
