ECOWAS suspends Guinea-Bissau after coup
Following Wednesday’s military takeover in Guinea-Bissau, ECOWAS has suspended the country from all decision-making bodies.
The bloc condemned the detention of President Umaro Sissoco Embaló and other officials, demanding their immediate release and the resumption of the electoral process. Coup leaders have appointed General Horta N’Tam as transitional head for one year.
