Dr Maduka promises to transform Anambra state in all sectors
A governorship aspirant on the platform of PDP in the November 2021 Anambra state governorship election,Dr Godwin Maduka, has assured he will tackle the socio infrastructural deficits of every sector in Anambra state, if elected as governor of the state in the scheduled November 6,2021 governorship election in the state.
Dr Maduka who is a medical surgeon based in USA is among the PDP governorship aspirants in Anambra state, who have successfully both the nomination forms. He expressed optimism that he would win the party primaries,which is the first hurdle to qualify him for the governorship election.
Speaking to news men at Akanu Ibiam international airport Enugu on his arrival from Abuja,Dr Maduka said he would improve on the lot of people of Anambra state by stirring agricultural revolution in the state,promising to empower the Youths through education scholarship schemes.
The American trained doctor who have in the past two decades tranformed the road network in his immediate community Umuchu, in Orumba South local government area, build a 17 storey private hospital,housing a research center and medical laboratory, the best so far in Africa,promised to replicate such facilities in several rural areas of Anambra state,if elected as governor of Anambra state.
He further promised to look into the affairs of civil servants in the state and assurance of paying monthly salaries as at when due.
His words,”Governance is not neccesarily using ill gotten money to intimidate the masses,but if God gives you money,how do you reach out to the ess priviledge ones is a multi million dollar question”Maduka questioned.
The medical doctor cum politician in his philantropic nature has shared palliatives to several communities in Anambra state during the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic,while running a widow support group and other poverty alleviation ptojects, consistently in the past twenty years.
Within this period of heat of Anambra state governorship election,he donated 25 Sienna buses to effect operations of PDP across the 21 local government areas secretariat of the party while the remaining four other sienna buses are for the use secretariat of the party.
Commenting on his passion and philantropy for rural development, Maduka said as a boy he grew up in the village and suffered a lot due to lack of social infrastures.
His words, “I embarked on all these to save my people from the ugly experience I had while growing up. I come from a poor family. In the house where my family lived, when it rained, it rained more inside our house than it did outside. Wealth would be meaningless if it could not be used to better the lives of the people around the custodian.” His experience those days opened his mind to what other poor people are still experiencing, and his resolve to give a helping hand to the less privileged.
