Digital Trial Census begins this week in Idemili South

The National Population Commission(NPC) has notified the general public that actual Trial Population and Housing Census PHC will commence on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in the seven towns in Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State.

The notification was given via a press release signed by the NPC Anambra State Director, TPL Joachin Ulasi informing all churches and general public cum residents of Idemili South urging them to co-operate with the Census workers.

Ulasi appealed to all churches, organizations, stakeholders and leaders to sensitize both old and young, indigenes and non indigenes resident in Idemili South to allow the Enumerators work professionally without interference.

According to the press release, The trial PHC will commence at Akwuukwu, Alor, Awkaetiti, Nnobi, Nnokwa, Oba and Ojoto on Wednesday July 13, 2022.

“The trial PHC is a dress rehearsal for the main 2023 Census to test and validate the census instruments, logistics, Personnel and all other activities associted with the census exercise.

“Field functionaries will commence with Building numbering and Household listing from Wednesday July 13 to Saturday July 16,2022. Validation of the building numbering and household listing will be Sunday July 17 to Tuesday July 19, 2022.

“De facto enumeration will start from Wednesday July 20 to Sunday July 24, 2022. This means that people are expected to be counted physically present. However, if you are not around the enumerators will come back when you are physically present to count you.

“Enumeration mop up will be done from Monday July 24 to Saturday July 30, 2022. Our theme is -‘ You Count, Be Count’. Every building and everyone living in Idemili South must be counted.
