CP orders investigation into alleged murder of a young man in Anambra

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Monday Bala Kuryas fsi, has ordered the immediate launch of a full-scale investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a citizen, later identified as Ugochukwu Onwuzulike, at  Awkuzu Junction, on 20th April, 2021. He gave this order today 21st April, 2021, while receiving family members of the deceased in his office at the State Headquarters in Awka.

The CP, while commiserating with the family, colleagues and friends of the deceased, expressed sadness over the incident and appealed to all concerned to maintain calm. He reassures the Command’s commitment to thoroughly investigate and bring the perpetrators to book, while calling on residents of the State to assist the Police with useful information that will aid the success of the investigation.

Meanwhile, information available to the Command, reveals that the deceased was shot by an unknown person suspected to be in an escort convoy, while he was riding a motorcycle, on 20th April, 2021 at about 12:40pm at Awkuzu Junction, along Onitsha Expressway.

The unconscious body of victim was taken a nearby hospital by Police Operatives attached to Oyi Police Division of the Command, who swiftly responded to a distress call on the incident, and was later confirmed dead by the medical doctor on duty.
