COVID-19 Sanitising Devices Installed As Senate Resumes

The National Assembly has installed COVID-19 automatic sanitising devices on all entrances to contain spread of the pandemic.

Inside the tunnel-like chamber is a chest containing hand sanitiser, apart from an automatic sanitiser which sprays misty substances on anyone who walks through it apparently to kill germs or viruses that may be in raiment and other carry- on bags.

On Tuesday, the Senate resumed from its eight- week vacation and immediately resolved into an executive session.

Among items on the order paper of the Senate include presentation and consideration of the report of the Committee on Finance on the 2021 – 2023 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP).

The Senate President Ahmad Lawan is also expected to read President Muhammadu Buhari’s letter transmitting the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) to the National Assembly.

However, the Senate is expected to defer all items on the order paper and adjourn plenary after the closed door session till the next legislative day in honour of Senator Buruji Kashamu (Ogun East) who passed on during their vacation.
