“It should be recalled that before now, the Attorney-General of the Federation had written to the governor to allow the elected Chairmen and Councillors to serve their tenures in such Capacities, but the governor went ahead to Sack us. And as responsible Citizens who didn’t want to take the laws into our hands, we had no option, than to approach the Court. And we are happy that the Court had upheld the laws of the land against illegality.

“Aside the letter written by the Attorney-General of the Federation to that effect, the Supreme Court, we are aware, had also ruled against governors Sacking elected Council Chairmen and Councillors. And what shocked us was that, we had rejoiced when Governor Uzodinma came on board having become governor on the platform of APC and we, also elected as Chairmen and Councillors on the tickets of APC. But he still went ahead to Sack us.

We shall join hands with him to give the good people of Imo State the needed leadership. We shall fully cooperate with him in the overall interest of the State and her people”.
