Court of Appeal Bars INEC from Validating PDP Ibadan Convention
The Court of Appeal in Abuja has upheld a ruling preventing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from validating its November 2026 Ibadan convention, which produced Taminu Turaki as National Chairman.
The three-judge panel affirmed that the PDP failed to conduct valid state congresses in 14 states and did not follow statutory notice requirements, violating the Electoral Act and party guidelines.
The appellate court dismissed the Turaki-led faction’s appeal and fined them N2 million, while ordering the party to comply with proper procedures before holding a national convention.
