As part of influencing and contributing to the host community and humanity at large, a corps member has donated school relief items to some less privileged students in his Place of Primary Assignment(PPA) a secondary school where he teached; and also wrote and published a book aimed at educating parents, prospective parents, teachers on necessary ingredients needed to raise quality and successful children aside the conventional ways.

The corps member, Oguocha Chukwuebuka Chukwuma with State Code AK/19B/1631in Eket Local Government served as a teacher in Government
Secondary School Afaha Eket where he was moved with compassion towards his students and was inspired to write and publish a book titled “Happy At Last”. While making a public presentation of his book during an Educational Seminar he noted that the idea to write the book “Happy At Last” was from his mentor, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu PhD, owner of odogwublog.com; since they shared the same desire to promote proper child upbringing.

The State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Akwa Ibom who was ably represented by the Zonal Inspector for Eket Zone, Mr. Kufre Umoren stated that he was elated and impressed with this laudable project and he however admonished other corps members and youths to affect the lives of others by emulating this good work rather than spending their service year in their host community without making any impact or contribution to the society.

He however commended Chukwuebuka for a work well done and prayed that God reward him abundantly and take him places and more lives will be affected.

The Chief Speaker during the Educational Seminar, Dr. Clement Obadimu highlighted and explained salient factors to be considered when raising quality children. He noted that the behavior of a child does not determine what a child will become in future but can only be influenced by the way the child was raised.

In a related development, Corps member Chukwuebuka presented School Sandals to some less privileged students in his PPA (Government Secondary Afaha Eket) when he discovered they had bad school sandals.

While presenting the School Sandals to the affected students, the Principal of the school, Mr. Godwin J. Ekong on behalf of the students and management of the school, appreciated the corps member and NYSC at large for their kind gesture and benevolence towards the students and the school at large.
