Christian Men's Fellowship Sunday: Anglican Churches Worldwide Ask Men To Arise For Better Society

“Men Arise” as written in the Holy Bible in Isaiah 60:1-3 and 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 was the theme of sunday’s Father’s Sunday for Anglican men worldwide.

In Anambra State, the Leader of the Anglican Churches in Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim PhD charged men to ensure they won’t disappoint God’s instructions to stand for equity, justice and fairness in the society.

Archbishop Ibezim asked men not to forget that the Lord is calling on them as Christian men, especially the Christian Men’s Fellowship, to rise from sitting at ease in Zion, to shine with the gospel of truth and light to the whole world throug our preaching and lifestyles, in order to deliver the people from darkness.

At the Church of The Holy Spirit Awka, ( CHS Awka), fathers under the umbrella of Christian Men’s Fellowship led Mazi Samuel Ike came out in their numbers to appreciate God and support the work of God.

As well, the chairman of the 2026 father’s Sunday committee, Mr. Elochukwu Akaolisa Ilo made sure everyone who attended the father’s Sunday was entertained, even as he distributed bed balls as appreciation to those who supported the fathers. He expressed gratitude to the church members for their support and fathers for the opportunity with his nen to serve.

In his sermon to mark the Sunday, the Vicar, Church of The Holy Spirit Awka, and Archdeacon, CHS Archdeaconry. Ven.Dr. Onyeka Egwuonwu encouraged men to carey themselves with dignity and integrity always, since man is created to be dignified.

He warned fathers to ensure they don’t curse their children but rather bless them as custodians of the authority of God in tje homes.

Ven. Dr. Egwuonwu insisted that for fathers to instill discipline on their children, they must be disciplined themselves, even as he warned fathers against speeches, attitudes and idiocynracies that breed generational problems in the homes.

He passionately requested fathers to be disciplined and bring up the children in the instructions and training of God’s values.

He pointed out that wants to get physically involved in our homes as creators of His image aside His spiritual involvement hence as representatives of God, men should be taken seriously in their homes. particularly on their wives and children trusted unto them by God. He appealed to men to be true fathers.

Meanwhile, the retired Justice CEK Anagbogu and family donated sets of priest’s chairs for the altar to the Church of The Holy Spirit Awka.
