Chelsea already boast a plethora of world-class talents but the Blues boss Frank Lampard is reportedly ready to bring in another midfielder to the team in other to enable him implement his preferred playing style at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has reportedly identified Denis Zakaria as a potential signing from Borussia Monchengladbach to massively improve the quality of the squad in the winter transfer window.

23-Year Old Denis Zakaria has been regarded as one of the best performing box-to-box midfielders in Europe as his impressive performances for Monchengladbach in the German Bundesliga and Champions League has attracted the interest of several top clubs around Europe.

The likes of Manchester City, Bayern Munich and even Manchester United have been linked with the player but Chelsea are reportedly in a pole position to land the player after recent talks.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen to bring in a defensive midfielder to his squad and the Blues had been initially linked with Declan Rice and also missed out on the signing of Thomas Partey to Arsenal. Chelsea have been reported to have dropped all interest in Declan Rice and will now move to complete the signing of Denis Zakaria as Chelsea’s scout believe the Switzerland midfielder is a better fit to Chelsea than Declan Rice.

However, Chelsea will have to pay a fee in the region of €53.5million to complete the signing of the powerful midfielder in the winter transfer window which opens in a few months from now.

Chelsea will have to beat the likes of Manchester City as Pep Guardiola has been reported to be a huge fan of the Midfielder and he has been pipped as the Midfielder to replace 36-year old Fernandinho.

Denis Zakaria is a very physical midfielder who is also highly technically gifted, his tackling ability, passing range, reading of the game and most importantly his ability to stop dangers will be a huge plus to Chelsea as the likes of Jorginho and Kovacic do not have the defensive discipline to help Chelsea against oppositions. Chelsea need this player to assist Kante and also give freedom to the attacking players at the club.
