Chad has shut its border with Nigeria following intelligence of potential militant crossings and amid rumors of U.S. military activity in West Africa.

President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno deployed troops and armored vehicles to key routes, warning no armed group or foreign force would be allowed entry. The move aims to protect Chad from regional instability and militant infiltration.
