Central School Oba holds 94th Graduation, solicits for assistance

The Parents and Teachers of Central School Oba in Idemili South have called on both government and individuals to assist in equipping the school with more desks, instructional materials and scholarship schemes to aid learners.

The call was made during the 94th Graduation/Prize giving day of Central School which happens to be the first primary school in Oba community.

In her welcome address, the Head teacher, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nzomiwu stressed the importance of primary education as a necessity for any achievement in life, appreciating the teachers and parents for their support.

“Education is an important aspect of life. I congratulate the graduands. Keep the banner of this great citadel of learning high. May you never disappoint us or your parents as you continue your academic pursuit.

“Today we are going to give away prizes in recognition of some of our exceptional pupils to serve as a motivation to others.

“Some of the prizes include Best pupils in class and in certain subjects; Early to school; neatness; faithfulness in duties among others,”said Nzomiwu.

The Head teacher thanked Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State for his huge investments in the education sector but enumerated areas where the school needed urgent assistance.

“Some challenges facing this school include more desks, computers, reading tables and chairs for our library, equipping our nursery section for more conducive learning, Electricity generator set, scholarship scheme for the less privileged,” said Nzomiwu.

Moreover, the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) Chairman, Comrade Osita Maduekwe who described Central School Oba as the first among others commended the teachers requesting for the renovation of the Headteacher’s office.

“This school is far from my house but I bring my children here because the teachers are wonderful and very hard-working.Also wealthy individuals should give scholarships to the less privileged around them.

“Government should provide more seats because some children in nursery section do sit on the floor because of inadequate desks,”said Maduekwe.

Another parent, Mr. Vincent Nwaobi called on both indegens and Oba residents to register their children in the school during the next saying that the school was well known for their excellent academic performance.

The Occasion Chairman, Pastor Cletus Chukwudile appealed to the state government to honor the requests made by the Headteacher adding that the school needed a security personnel and more teachers.

Some of the pupils who received prizes include Joy Onu-School monitor, Ifeanyi Nwankwo- Labour monitor.They thanked the school management saying that they were delighted that the school recognized their efforts.

Highlight of the occasion include cutting of graduation cake, presentation of prizes, cultural displays and dances, school debate and recitations.
